Constable Calwell is at present in Wellington attending the Police Association conference. Mrs. Calwell is also in the city, but both expect to return to Otaki on Friday. Jim, the " eleven-year-old son of Mr, and Mrs. C. Goode, had the misfortune to have a leg broken yesterday afternoon while playing football at the Otaki State School. After receiving medical attention he was conveyed by ambulance to the Palmerston North Hospital. Trout Fry Liberated Some 35,000 trout fry have recently been liberated in the Waikanae River and adjacent streams. Maori Skeletons Found While excavating in the vicinity of the Waikanae Bowling Club's green recently two Maori skeletons were unearthed. Court Sitting Adjourned The monthly sitting of the Otaki Magistrate's Court, to have been held tomorrow, has been adjourned. Only a very few cases were set down for hearing. Bowling Club's Opening The Raumati Bowling Club will open the season on Saturday and a large gathering is expected. The green is in good order and enjoyable games should result. Members of the Otaki Club are asked to advise the president or secretary if they desire to make the trip. Only one rink, however, will play.
