UNIQUE IN ENORMITY

GUILT OF HERMANN GOERING Received Tuesday, 11.45 p.m. NUREMBERG, Oct. 1. Lord Justice Lawrence said the evidence showed that Goering, after Hitler, was the most dominant man in the Nazi regime. There was no douht he was the moving force for aggressive war. Second only to Hitler he was the planner and prixne mover for the military and diplomatic preparations for the wars which Germany pursued and used his power to interfere in diplomatic actions including the attempt in 1939 to prevent Britain from lielping Poland. Goering commanded the Air Force during the campaigns against Foland, Norway, Yugoslavia and-' Greece ahd planned the latter two (

campaigns for a long time before they were carried out. Goering considered Russia was Germany 's greatest danger and only ohjected to the Russian campaign because of its timing as he hoped it to take place after Britain' s defeat. He was the moving force behind the slave labour movement. Goering was chief of the economic staff set up si-x months before the Russian invasion which plundered industrial and food { supplies. He issued the anti-Jewish j edicts of 1939, 1940 and 3.941. | Lord Justice Lawrence said Goering had admitted all those crimes and despite the conflict of testimony, his admissions w;pre broadly more than sufficient to be conclusive. His guilt was unique in its enormity and his record disclosed no excuses.
