WELLINGTON, Oct. 1. Situation: An anticyclone is east of New Zealand and an extensive depression covers the eastern Tasman Sea and New Zealand. Foreqast to 5 p.m. on Wednesday: North-easterly to northerly winds, strong in exposed positions and tending north-westerly tomorrow. Weather dull, with intermittent rain in most places and some heavy falls. Temperatures moderate. Further outlook: Changeable and showery, but improving slowly.
