NEW COMMANDER IN CENTRAL MEDITERRANEAN
GENERAL HARDING APPOINTED Received Tuesday, 11 a.m. TRIESTE, Sept. 30. ' ■Lieut. -General Sir John Harding, at present commanding the British Thiiteenth Corps, becomes com-.liander-in-Chief of the Central Mediterranean forces. Lieut.General Harding returns to command the British and American uroops in Venezia Giulia. Thirfeenth Corps headquarters are .nerging with general- headquarters ,if the Central Mediterranean iorces, whieh are moving tomorrow from Caserta to Padua. Lieut.-General Harding is one of Field Marshal Lord Alexander's stafl during the Italian campaign. He was wounded in 1943.
