RATE TO OVERSEAS BURSARS

The Rehabilitali'on Board has decided lo increase to £32S stei'ling a year- the amouiit paid by way of sustoiiaiice. allowance to ex-sefvice overseas bursars who are married. The new increase takes effect from Ajiril 1 last. The previous amauut paid was £250 sterliug, although a separatiou allowance of £7S a year was also grauted to married ex-serviceiyeu who continued to maintain a liome in New Zealand during their absence. The deeision followed a report to the board on the position of married bursars whose wives were with them in the United Kingdoiu and who were finding it most difficult to meet bare essential living expenses on the £250 ailovvanec.
