Tony Zale knocked out Rock Graziano in the sixth round of a bout for the middleweight ehampionship of the world., A erowd estimated at 45,000 saw a fast, hard hitting contest. Both lighters took and gave severe punishmcnt in the hve rounds and 103 seconds of fighting. Zale, although retaining the cha'nipionsliip, appeared at the end of his endurance several times but returned for the delivery of savage punishment. Graziano went down for three in the lirst round and Zale was downed in ihe second round but was saved by the bell. The linishing blow was a left hook by Zale. It is reported lie broke his haiul during the light.
