VACCINE FOR TURERCULOSIS

Received Friday, 7 p.pi. LONDON, Sept. 27. A Swedish vaccine which was widely used in Scandinavia for vaccination against tuberculosis, is to be tested in Britain by the Ministry of Health. If the tests are satisfact'ory the production of the vaccine in Britain will be commenced as soon as possible. The vaccine has been in use in Sweden since 1937. All doctors, nurses and medieal attendants who are exposed to the disease in its virulent form, are injected with it. More recently it has fceen used to vaccinate school children with results which have impressed the British authorities. The chief medieal officer of the British Ministry of Health, Sir Wilson Jameson, recently visited Sweden in order to discuss methods of producing the serum in Britain.
