PLANE EXPLODES IN MID-AIR
WORLD RECORD TEST PILOT ! OVERDUE I Received Saturday; 11 a.m. LONDON, Sept. 27. A plane believed to be a jet aircraft exploded in mid-air over the Thames Estuary. Geoffrey de Havilland, who was fiying to Tangmere in a tail-less jet d'e Havilland S.wailow for the world speed record tests, is reported overdue.
