Commenc-ing on Monday next, tne present reduced hours of broadeasting will be modified to eonfonn with the somewhat improved position in the electrie supply in the North Island. All broadeasting stations will, until further notiee, remain sliut down between S.10 a.m. and S.40 a.m., from 11.30 a.m. to noon, and from 5.80 p.m. to (3 p.m. from Monday to Friday each week. Announcing this jointly Hon. R. Semple and Hon. F. Jones said that al th'ougli the demand for electricity was now easing slightlv, -it was still necessary for North f Island consumers xo avoid any waste. The water position at Lake Taupo was still below average for this time of the year and the future position will not be safeguarded until Taupo storage is reasonably full.
