AUCKLAND, Sept. 2,>. He said he did not think any doctors were greatlv over-prescribing, If the Government introduced a free medical scheme, it was to be expected that the amount of prescribing wouid increase. Before the introduetion of Social Security, doctors' prescriptions imd been tempered by knowledge of a patient's financial position, but now there was 110 such cousideration. The Government had stated that thbest medical attention should I >0 ava:! able to all, and tliat must necessarily be expensive.
