TRIAL OF MAJOR COUSENS

The trial of Ma.jor Charles Hughfes Cousens for higli treason, entered its 17th day today with Cousens still being cross-e-xamined by eounsel for the Crown. Costs in -the case so far have been over £7000 and may reach £10,000 if the case lasts another week. Cousens, who is paying for his own defence,- pajrs 160 guineas daily in eounsel 's fees hlonG. ; _ .
