j . AUCKLAND, Sept. 23. A report on Ihe proposed tuur oi' South Ai'rica by u team of New Zealand amateur boxers, was preseixted b\ the secretary, Mr. G.. P. Aldridge, at the annual meeting of the Nevv Zealaud Boxing Associalion in Auckland today. Mr. Aldridge said the Assoeiation I had aceepted an ixivitation for a team to make a three months' tour oi.' South Ai'rica to meet provincial title holders ' and national chaxxxpions. The team woub.l consist of 11 boxers, manager : and trainer, Mr. Aldridge said a lelter had sinee ! been received fronx South Africa stat- : ing that Australia had also accepted axx , invitatiou to tour at the same time and 1 suggestiug that. a team representing botlx Australia and New Zealand be selected. The Assoeiation had notagreed to tlxis suggestion and a reply ; to its contexxtion that an entirely New Zealaud team slxould go was now awaited. The selectors. Messrs E. Armishaw and G. Bnslx (Auckland) and G. Cotter (Bleixheim ), would slill select the New Zealaud teaxn following the Dominion toulmainent in Auckland. endeavour to atrange a tour of New Zealand by a team of amateur boxers from overseas, received xmaniinous support. It was decided that the New Zealand championships be held in Christchurch noxt year.
