AUCKLAND, Sept. 23. The Legislafive Council would be abolished. if the National Party was returned at the tiext election, said Mrs. H-ilda Ross, Memher for Hamilton, aadressing a meeting of electors of North Shore eiectorate. The Labour Party haa promised to abol'ish the Council hut had not kept its pfomise. Instead it had appointed four new members. "Paying members of the Legislative Council is "a waste of the pe'oples' money," she cobtinued. "The Council meets occasiorially fof about ten mihutes and is of no real ttse. If the National Party is returfied, it will abolish the Councif. That is a promise that will he kept."
