BRITISH PRINTERS' DISPUTE
40-HOUR WEEK IMPRACTICABLE Received Tuesday, 11.10 a.m. LONDON, Sept. 23. The eourt of inquiry convened by the Minister of Labour to inquire into the diepute between the British Federation of Master Printers and the Printing and Kindred Trades Federation has decided, firstly, that a fortnight's holiday with pay yearly is practicable and, secondly, that it is impracticable because of the manpower shortage to reduce the working week from 44 to 40 hours. . ..
