WELLINGTON, S.ept. 19. The Prime Minister stated today that reports had been made to him that m some eases divoree proceedings had been initiated by United .States servicemen who were married to New Zealand'ers at present residing in New Zealand, and that difficulties h^d .arisen where the wives concerned desired to defenct the actions. Information was not available to determine where the actions had been commenced, but New Zealand wives qf United States servicemen who have evidence that actions for divoree are contemplated or have been commenced, should communicate with the Under- Seeretary of Jusfice, Wellington, who will, if desired, advise the best edurse to follow to defend the acfciom If cireumstahces warrant, steps will be taken t'hrough the New Zealand Minister at Washington to ensure effeetive presentation of a wif e 's •case during tfte Court proceedings.
