A small party of Governnient otticials, with a representative of the Rubber Growers ' Association, left for America this week to discuss the complex situa tion following the rapid r^sumption of large scale production by Maiayan es tates. Britain has acquired considerable stocks aiul according to The Statist, at present it seems that the Board of Trade is liolding off from niaking further purchases and also that planters are not, after all, assured of a market for all they produce. It is believed tliere will be a return to free marketing when the present agreenient with America expires at Ihe end of 1940, when the price of the eommodity might siuk below the present 14d. a lb.
