WOMEN'S INSTITUTES

WAITARERE'S MEETING The September meeting of the Waitarere Women's Institute was held recently, Mrs. Fletcher presiding. Visitors and members were given a very warm welcome by her, and Mrs. James was welcomed as a new member. Competition results were:— Ginger nuts: Mrs. Coleman 1, Mrs. Fletcher 2 and Mrs. Benning 3. Smocking: Mrs. Stanley 1 and 2. A lucky number competition was won by Mrs. Swan. A handy hint i-oll call brought forth some very useful tips. Arrangements are well in hand for the play to be staged at Manakau in the near future. Afternoon tea, served by Mesdames Fagan and Fraser, brought the afternoon to a close.
