WELLINGTON CENTRE A meeting of the Wellington Cen- I tre was held last week, when an apology was received for absence from Mr. Barton Ginger, representative of the Paraparaumu Beach Club. The following representatives were among those present: .Messrs. J. Moffitt (Otaki Raiiway), W. Gilbert (Paekakariki), B. A. Guise (Otaki), G. ,^E. Cox (Raumati) and J. R. Williams (Waikanae) . The Waikanae Club's application j for affiliation was approved, sub- ! ject to the sample of proposed col- i ours being submitted and approved. i It was reported that the follow- | ing entries had been received for ! ►he competitions : Senior pennants j 43, junior pennants 30, country ' pennants 6, mid-week pennants 19, j diamond buckles 15, edwin feathers 20, Hill pins 21 and R.S.A. badges 21. Mr. W. M. Horton forwarded an itinerary for visiting 22 greens iTom September 9 onwards. Letters were received from the ' Hertfordshire County Council and i Miss E. Burgess, England, and j •xpressing grateful thanks for ■ parcels received through the Patri- ; )tic Board. A specimen scoring board wa'-' j tresented for consideration and ! vas the subject of favourable com- , ment. Mr. D. H. Taylor supplied a ; • number of blue prints in conneecion with the board, and stated the ipproximate cost would be £3 each 1 ooard. Mr. Cox (Raumati) raised the ; question of the amount of lavy paid \ on ordinary and honorary members ' : 3f bowling clubs and the president | : reported that the matter would be | ' reviewed when the rules of the j centre were being revised.
