WELLINGTON, Sept. 17. Wellington motor vehicle importers stated today that they had heen advised of an all-ronnd increase in the valne of vehicle licences for 1947 affecting the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States. The existing basis had heen increased hy the addition of 50 per cent, of the value of imports in 1938. The effect would he that between 13,000 and 14,000 United Kingdom cars and more than 4000 Canadian and United States cars would he imported in 1947. li available, more than 3000 commerciai vehicles would also he importea. These figitres represented about 10,000 fewer cars than were imported in 1938 and about 1300 fewer commerciai vehicles.
