In a statement on the "Britain Can Make It" exhibition, which His Majesty is opening on September 24, ihe President of the Board of Trade (Sir Stafford Cripps) said that the exhibition Was a demonstration to the world of the speed and efficiency with which British industry has changed from war to peace production. It was a revelation of some better and pleasanter things for which the war-weary British and other peoples were waiting patieutly. The exVibition emphasised the newer designs. Nearly 3400 firms had submitted goods for display.- Nearly 1300 had been chosen, including some making for the home market without pi'ejudicing the expor-t trade.
