Anything advanced to the contrary is a perpdtuation of the serpent's lie, "Ye shall not surely die" (Gen. 3; 14). The Hebrew word for soul is "nephesh," and the Greek ."psuche" neither of chese words in the original express the idea of immortality, but are applied indiscriminately in the Scriptures, both to the HUMAN and ANIMAL creation. In harmony with this we read in the Bible that souls: — (1) Are BORN (Gen. 46: 18, 46; 26, Exo. 1: 5). (2) SOULS EAT and DRINK (Deut. 12; 20, Lev. 12; 10). (3) SOULS DIE and are UTTERLY DESTROYED (Job. 7; 15/ EZe 18;. 4) , - ' v ^7 : •: The 'foregoing. - •: .c.bhfiph's. ,• ,th"d truth that rfian ,i?
