JOCKEYS RESUME RACE RIDING Two jockeys who were prominent in their craft a few years ago have recently resumed their calling. S. Anderson, away from racing for two years and a-half-, had his first ride on Salmi at Foxton and showed all his former alertness at the barrier to get his mount away and finish second. Anderson is now attached to Mr. J. A. Higg's establishment at Otaki and can scale at 7.12. At Avondale on Saturday N. R. McKenzie had his first mount since November, 1942. In the meantime McKenzie has had success as a dfiver of trotters and pacers. He was prominently associated with such horses as King Rey,: Jonathan and Lou Rosa a few years ago.
