WELLINGTON, Sept. 10. "To assist in the drive for more pig meats which are urgently needed, the Government has deciJed to continue the erop subsidy scheme of £5 per acro for supplementary feed for next winter and to eonsider an increase in the priee schedule for pigs," said Hon. C. F. Skinner, acting for the Miriister of Agriculture, tonight. lle added that more than 5000 farmers took advantage of the scheme last season and approximately £125,000 was [taid to farmers growing crops for pigs. "I would like to stress that there is still a great need for more grain crops," said Mr. Skinuer. "Wherever possible farmers- should increase the acreage of cereal grain for pig feed." The terms and conditions of the crop subsidy Fcheme would be the same as for the past two seasons, he added.
