The Government recognises that fir-m measures must be taken against property seizures, The statement is expected to give general guidance to the police and municipal authorities and also advice t, owners of private property. « The Government realises that tlie organisation of these raids by the Communists constitutes a sinister politicai challenge. The Ministers are disturbed at the breakdown of the law and order which would occur if such .practicer developed. The Government unaer stands it is facing not just the house liunger of poor people but a politica menace and will make it clear it will not tolerate any bid to form a seconct Government. When it is sure of its ground the Government will act vigor ously and promptly.
