MELLER GOOD WRESTLER
W Has Variety of Holds UNBEATEN REC0RD T0 DATE (By "Specoator") Herb Meller, who recently dyew with Earl McCready at Christchurch, is one of the best wrestlers seen here for some time. Although he has . yet to beat the Empire champion, his record to date does not yet include a loss. In his bout with . McCready he showed that his knowledge of holds is varied. His speciality, the Atomic drop, is a "killer," says a leading critic. Meller, who scales about 17 stone, is in great demand in both islands and is always well applauded. Although he specialises in flying tackles and the like, his fighting is often rugged, but this adds to his popularity with the public. Weliingxon will see him fight in about three weeks' time. , Atkins-McCready Bout The Australian Fred Adkins is iown to meet Earl McCready at Palmerston North next Saturday night. The bout should be a first class one as their last meeting ended in a win on points for McCready. Ring Fixtures To-night: Pencheff v. Adkins, at Wanganui; McCready v. Kaempfer, at Masterton; Wednesday: Meller v. Kenneth, at Rotorua; Thursday: McCready v. Blomfield, at Christchurch; Saturday: Adkins v. McCready, at Palmerston North. Pencheff Disappoints George Pencheff has not been as good as expected and his best performance to date was his first, when he drew with Jack Claybourne at Wellington last month. He is not as outstanding as the negro in . the drop-kick, in which both men soecialise.
