The Lincoln bomber which is carrying out the R.A.F.'s first overseas bomber liason mission, left at 4.15 a.m. G.M.T. for Australia and New Zealand. Fatal injuries were received by Mr. Edward Nicholson, married, a miner, of Ngakiwau, when a rake of trucks ca.rrying six miners home from Charming Creek mine, Buller, was struck by a large rock dislodged from the hilside, which crashed on to the trucks, killing Nicholson and injuring three others.
