OBITUARY
•m* — — — MR. FRANCIS JULIUS The death occurred yesterday at his residence, Khandallah, of Mr. Frank Francis Julius, 'a well-known and highly respected resident, and who was in business in Otaki as a hairdresser and tobacconist for some time. ' The late Mr. Julius, who was born at Milton (South Island), where he. resided for . some years, was educated there, came to the North Island when a youth, and settled at Johnsonville, where he engaged in hairdressing for a number of years. He afterwards returned to ihe South Island, and followed farming pursuits, going in largely for wheat growing. He was there for about five years and then returned to the North Island, taking up business in Otaki as a hairdresser and tobacconist, making many friends by his jovial and obliging manner. He was in the hairdressing business for some forty years, during wnich he made many iife-long friends. For three years he resided in Otaki, and after a very serious operation took up residence at Khandallah, again following his occupation as a hairdresser. Afterwards he moved to Plimmerton, where he retired for 3ome years. The deceased gentleman,.- who had only been ill a few days, was eheerful to the end and passed quietly away. The late Mr. Julius was in his 76th year. He leaves a widow, who is a daughter of the late Mr. John Morgan, and a grown-up family to mourn their loss. One son, John, dicd some years ago, but those who survive him are May (Mrs. Calcinai), of Tawa Flat, George (Johnsonville;, Bert (Wellington), Frank (Christchurch), Bernard (Otaki) and Alex (Khandallah). The funeral takes place to-day. Much sympathy is expressed for the bereaved widow and family, while the death of Mr. Julius has cOme as a shock to his many fripnds
