FOREVER AMBER TO BE RE-PRODUCED
Next month 20th-Century-Fox will begin filming the much discussed and thorn in the censor's mind. "Forever Amber." The production, on its second try, will have U'1 -neW Amber and- -a- new script. Peggy Cummins, the Irish lass imported from Ireland to Hollywood to play the naughty heroine of "Kathleen Winsor's naughty Restoration novel, will not be.in the new cast. With the exception of Cornel Wilde, who has been retained to play the stormy Bruce Carlton, most of the original cast is out. The hottest favourite for the new Amber is Gene Tierney. Fox's first struggle to film "Forever Amber" ended on May 1, when director John Stahl, now superseded, walked ofT the set. By that date the film cost £95,000 in expenses.
