FILMS COMING
There are a number of good -films on their way to New Zealand. Most of them have been shown in England and received good receptions. They" are: "Heartbeat" (R.K.O.), co-starring Ginger Rogers, Jean Pierre (his first picture since the war) , Adolphe Menjou, Basil Rathbone; "The Strange Tones of Martha Ivers" (Paramount), Barbara Stanwyck, Van Heflin, Lizabeth Scott; "Danger Signal" (Warner), Faye Emerson, Zachery Scott; "The Dark Corner" ,(20th Century-Fox) , Lucille B'all, Clifton Webb (of "Laura" • fame) , WiHiam Bendix and a new star, Mark Stevens; "From this Day Forward" (R.K.O.) , Joan Fontaine, Mark Stevens; - "San Antonio" . (Warner technicolour) , Errol Flynn, Alexis Smith; "On the 'Carpet" (Universal), Abbott and Costello; "Somewnere in the Night" (20th Century-Fox) , John Hbdiak, Lloyd Nolan, Nancy Guild, Richard Conte; "Make Mine Music" (Walt Disney) ; "Beware of Pity" (Two Cities), Lilli Palmer, Albert Lieven, Sir Cedric Hardwicke* Gladys Cooper; "The Years Between" (Two Cities), Michael Redgrave, Valerie Hobson, Flora Robson; . "Spelibound" (United Artists) ; "Cinderella" (Warners), Joan Leslie, Robert Aldon; "Lisbon Story" (English) , Patricia Burke, David Farrar and "Miss Susie Slagles" (Paramount) , Veronica Lake, Sonny Tufts, Joan Coulfield. This last named picture opens in Wellington shortly.
