The stake for the cup was lxxcd a( £5100, the aame as last vear, but ail stakes for the otker races on the tljreedav prograixxme were increased. The total will be £32,500, an increase of £(5800 given at the Victory Cup meetixxg last vear. The stake for the Stewards' Handicap has been raised from £1500 to £2000; the Xew Zealand Derby from £2500 to £3000; the .Xew Zealand Oalo from £.1000 to £1500; the Welcome Stakes from £1250 to £2000; the Me_trooolitan Handicap from £2000 to £2500;
the Jockey Club Handicap from £1000 to £1500; and the Caixterixury Cup Trorn £1200 to £1500.Au iuxportant change in the balloting systenx was decided upon following 0x1 tiie exjxerience gained at the Graxxd Xational meeting.
