. SMITHFIEI D STRIKE Received Thursdav, 7 p.m. LOXDOX, Sept. 5. The 'Smithfield "closed sliop" strike ended late las't night when the eniployers accepted the men's condition for returning to work, namcly, that tlie'y would move the meat in transit provifl ed they were not asked to work with non-unionists. Following this the meat has been moved and normal working will be resuined peiuling a Governmeht inquirv into the conditions at - Smithfield as requosted by the Fnion. The strike began on September 2, wlicn 3000 meat workers who are members of the Transport and General Workers Fnion refused to work with members of the Guild of Clerks arid Salesmcn which is not afiiliated with the Trades Union.Founc.il.
