THE LATE MRS. FRY
TI1E PRESIDENT'S TRIBUTE At the annual session of the Diocese of V/ellingoon the president, in his address, stabed: "Thc death of Mrs. Ellen Ethel Fry, wife of Canon H. E. K. Fry, on October 1, took from us one of the outstanding women of the diocese since her arrival from England 22 years ago. Out of the heart of a lovely Christian home — which she herself did so much to create and sustain — Mrs. Fry went forth with' her husband to serve in those spheres of church life which need the sympathetic wisdom and fine courage of a good woman to be adequately worked. She concerned herself with all that aflects the. weifare of the young and of Christian womanhood. She was a competent Bible class leader, and as an able speaker, wise counsellor and good organiser she did mucn for such organisations as the Mothers' Union and the Girl Guide Movement. The secret of all her scrvice and strength was a deep devotional- life and self-commit-ment to her Lord. All who knew her felt the irresistible charm of a genuine Christian spirit. I-Ier's was a life of great and enduring service to the Christian church."
