The American Negro, Ike Williams, knocked out the Welshman, Ronnie James, in the ninth round of a world lightweight title bout at Cardiff before a crowd of 45,000. Williams was not extended. He displayed terrific punching power and fine ringcraft, completely outclassing his opponent.
