Most of the Japanese responsiblo for erimos against Australian prisoners of war, have -already heon arrested and many ot them ex'eented oi' imprison,ed. Of more than 2000 suspected war ci'imina'ls rounded ,tip by tlie Austra'lians, 400 have already been disposed of. Another. 1600 are still being hunted. War crime-s investigation teams include many men of the Australian 8th Division tvhich surrendered in Malaya. Written j evidence buried with Australian bodies along the Burma-Eiam railway, has been unearthed and used to send the men responsTble to firing squads oi' cells. In ten months Australian Military Court s a't Rabaul, Morotai, Darwin and Wewak, have broug'ht 658 Japanese to hook. Of these 60 have been executed.
