If the Hindus and Moslems wan'ted to ftght they should fight it out themselves, Mr. Ghandi said. Congress would not ally itself with Britain against the Moslems. The deathroll is rising in Bombay as rioting continues. The police opened fire to disperse fighting between Pathan and Hindu workers. One report placed the deathroll at 54 as the rioting entered its second day. The police since dawn, have arrested 5'0Q. Two thousand troops have been rushed into the city and 10,000 are being held in readiness. The cruiser Norfolk anchored during the night in Bombay harbour.
