AUCKLAND, Sept. 2. The New Zealand Junior Boys' 440 ; yds. switnrmng reeord was broken toniglit by M. Araos, of North Shore Club. Amos swam the distanee in oniin. 32 l-o sec, surpassing A. Pascoe's reeord established in 1934 by 14 4-5sec. The attempt took place in the preseitce of Auckland otfieials who will forward the details for fecognition by the | New Zealand .authorities.
