MASTERTON, Sept. 2. The Minister of Works, Hon. R. Semple, stated at a public meeting in Masterton last night that work on the Rimutaka railway deviation would be eommenced in eight weeks. A' meeting of engineers will be held' at Featherston to-day to decide which is the best route.
