R.S.A. PROTEST.
AUCKLAND, Sept. 1. ' ' The Retnrned Services Association is facecl with many mornentous problems, the most difficnlt of which is hotising," said the president of the Auckland Association, Mr. A. P. Postlewaite, when welcoming delegates to the Auckland district conference of Retnrned Services Associations on Saturday. ' ' The position of returned men ~se"ekmg nouses is as oaa as ever it has been," added Mr. Postlewaite, "In the city they are living in patched up fowlhouses and garages lined with sacking, for which they are paying the exorbitant rental of 30s a week. Men who have been decorated by the King are living in backyard hovels and in some instances their wives are coming out of maternity hospitals and having to boil hot water on make shift backyard fireplades in order to bath their newborn babies,"
