BOYS' HOLIDAY CAMP
1 ' Boys who live in Wellington and whose fmancial position does not allow them to take holidays in the 1 country, will soon have the opportunity of spending two or three weeks at Reikorangi, : three miles ! out of Waikanae. They will be staying at .the permanent holiday ! camp of the Boys' Institute. This camp is to be set up on 1 property . acquired from Mr. Stub- ! oings, a farmer of the district. The ! camp has an area of 12 acres, including nearly ' two acres of native bush.. The Waikanae River borders it on two sides) and when combined with the bush and one or 1 two waterfalls, it provides some ■ very attractive scenery. There is a six-roomed house on the property which will provide comfortable headquarters. Mr. W.. J. Ferguson, the president of the institute, who with Mr. C. L. Cato, .the secretary, and Mr. H. M. Smith, the treasurer, visited the site, stated that up to £8000 will be spent in improving the camp. A large hall will be erected and cottages will line the river bank. It is possible that adjacent property will be bought. making it ; possible to accomniodate. up to 200 boys. -
