Price of Tea In the nouse yesterday, Mr. E. P. Need for Concert Hall It is#a pity that Levin does not possess a haU suitable for presentations by artists who would otherwise visit the town. None of the lialls in Levin at present can merii the name- "concert ha-11." • Last night in one hall 'two artists had to struggle with arctic-cold and poor accoustics, and because the aud'ience suffered similarly it could sympathise with the artists. The provision of a really llrst ciass concert hall would constitute a great advance for culture in this district. Natural Gas Dependent on the results of investigations now being undertaken at the No. 2 bore of Moturoa Oil Fields, Ltd., New Plymouth may be the flrst town in New- Zealand to use natural gas for community supply. It is emphasised that nothing definite has been decided, the present experiments being designed only to confirm the calorllic value of the gas and to measure the quantity availabie. Sponsoring the project is the New Plymouth Gas Company. This is n'ot the first occasion the idea has been discussed, but it has been brought to the fore recently by recurring shortages of coal. The company does not intend to supplant coal gas, the chairman of directors, Mr. F. S. Johns, explained. Both will be used in a mixture as determined by experts. The only point to be decided is whether, with or without pumping, the flow can be maintained steadily enough to justify the connection of the bore to the town supply. «
