ThC run had a vertieal descent of 41)0 foet over the total distanee of 50 yards, four open swing turns on the steep grade near the top proving a trap for the inajoritv of competitors. A liard packed surface and ideal bright sunshine t'avoured tlie large crowd of speetators. Tlie event was won by Yliss II. D. Alaxison, Ruapehu >Ski Glub, whose performance far outclassed the other'competitors. In both the morniug and afternoon runs she established fastest times, giving a brilliant demonstration of ski control on all the hazards of the course. Her aggregate timo was 44 2-5 secs. faster than the next best. The iirst tliree placiugs were as follow: — Miss Alanson: First run 1 rain 8 1-5 secs., second run .1 min. (5 3-5 secs., aggregate 2 mina. 14 4-5 secs. 1st. Mrs. 0. Gilkison, Otago Ski Club, 3 min 33 3-5 secs., 1 min. 25 3-5 secs., 2 min. 59 1-5 see., 2nd. Mrs. P. McNab, Ruapehu Club, 1 min. 36 secs., 1 min. 36 4-5 secs., 3 mins. 12 4-5 secs., 3rd. The inen's slalom will be held tomorrow over the same course.
