Received Wednesdav, 8.35 p.m. BRLSBANE, August 28. The early morning discoverv in mountainous country of North Queensland, has led to tlie breaking nji ot a gang of illegal tobacco operators whose activities involv.e thousands of pounds. Two Customs offieers unearthed a mobile tobacco nianufacturing plant liousmg 5(i0]bs. of illicitly made tobacco rearly for sale and ]2001bs. weight of leaf tobacco ready for manufacture. The discovery hiciuded a large power-driven cutting machine. The search covered many miles ot niountainous bushland. Other branches of illegal markotmg of tobacco have been discovered and a number of arrests will be made.
