Personal Mrs. Boggs and her children have 1 left for a holiday in Blenheim. Mrs. P.' O'Rourke and her children are spending a holiday in Hawke's Bay. Mrs. H. Elliott, have returned by plane to Westport. Mrs. Jamieson, an erstwhile resident of this district and now of Dunedin, arrived in Otaki a few days ago after travelling by plane. Mrs. Jamieson returns to her home to-day, much benefited after a severe attack of influenza. Preparing for Cricket Cricket this season gives bright promise, and the annual meeting on September 10 is likely to be largely attended. Chimney Fire A chimney fire at Mr. Monk's, Otaki Beach, shortly after seven o'clock last night, caused the sounding of the siren. The brigade as usual. was promppy pn the scene, but the fire had burned itself out prior to its arrival. Annual Daffodil Show The annual daffodil show in connection with the Otaki H. and D. Society will be held at Otaki Rail„way on Thursday, September 5, when it is hoped the display will be one that will do credit to the town and district. Schedules are available from the secretary, Mr. R. Purvis, Waerenga Road.
