" ln this 20 iveeks, " he said, "more than 3,930,000 meat coupons and 175,000 butter coupons have been con tributed. The monetary value of the meat alone is nearly £50,000." Support for the canipaign now ap peared to be increasing, he added. For the first two davs this week 9943 butter coupons and .182,466 meat coupons had been given. So far during the catn paign, the smaller centres had done better than the larger centres, Christ church being the onlv main centre to bc plaeed in the first four in the weeklv totals. Gisborne had reeorded a great achievement, having been first eight times, second six times and third twice. It had been hoped to have leaflets dropped from the Aries as she flew over New Zealand but this proved impossible owing to lnodifjcations to the structure of the record-breaking plane. Efforts* were now being made to have an R.N.Z.A.F. plane over various towns at the same time as the Aries and leaflets would be dropped from the R.N.Z.A.F. machine. During the past week 5193 butter and 163,503 meat coupons were saved, Gisborne being first for the week.
