Received Monday, 11.32 p.niV • PARIS, August 26. For the first timo three committees met simultaneouslv when the Paris Couferenee entered its fifth week. They were the ltalian Political and Territorial, the Balkans Econoinie and the General Military Committees. The Balkans coiumittee granted Poland's application for tlie hearing oi" the ecoiiomie elauses of the llungarian treaty. Poland has already indicated she has eJaims against Hungary for daunige caused by llungarian troops. At the meeting of the ltalian eommittee, Mr. Vyshinsky opposed two Dutcli ameiidments to the preamble of the ltalian treaty, to recognise the part plaved by members of the resistance movenients and inelude Japan among the countries against whieh Italy declared war. Holland finally withdrew the amendment referriug- to Japan. , Air. Vyshinsky joined the Big Four representatives supporting recognition of members of the resistance movenients and after opposition from Yugoslavia, the Duteh amendment on recognition was adopted without opposition, Yugoslavia abslaining. Mr. Beasley proposed to the Balkans conirriittee that reparations payments be made from current production. He suggested paynient should be a regular allotment of a proportion of tlie paying country 's foreign exchange acquired from Ihe sale of her products. Mr. Beasley urged- the establishment ol: a Reparations Commission to carry out the elauses of the treaties as eventually agreed.
