APPEAL FOR MATERIAL ON AIR FORCE
By T elegraph—
WELLINGTON, Aug. 24. That his appeal for material for the history of New Zealand at war covered all three services is emphasised by Major-General Klppenberger, edltor in chief of New Zealand war histories. Personal documents such as diaries and letters were required, particularly from those who had served in the R.A.F. or R.N.Z.A.F., as of major importance in the story of the Dominion's part in the air war. Every man who served in the air force, at home or abroad, on a station or in the air, could contribute something of importance. Information on the work of No. 15 Squadron at Tonga, between October, 1942, and February, 1943, was specially requiredr The material should be sent direct to the War History Branch, Departrnent of In-
ternal Affairs. To supplement the ofhcial records, personal accounts from commanding ofRcers of stations, squadrons and units in the Pacific, and from members of advanced parties at new stations, were also needed, while for the story of the training and expansion of the R.N.Z.A.F. in New Zealand accounts from instructors and pupils in the early months of the war would be valuable. ,
