MAORI CHAPEL IN CATHEDRAL

COST MAY BE £7000

WELLINGTON, Aug. 24. After a meeting of the Maori Chapel Committee yesterday, Sir Apirana Ngata announced that he believed the cost of the chapel proposed in the Wellington Cathedral would be about £7000. Bishop Holland had said he hoped the Maori people would raise that sum, as their contribution to the cathedral. Sir Apirana said they would have to make out a case for a national memorial if they desired help from other tribes. He suggested that Wellington raise £3000 before appealing elsewhere,
