GIFT TO HERITAGE DEEPLY APPRECIATED
' ' WELLINSTON, August 22. At a meeting of the executive of Heritage yesterday, a letter was read from "the New Zealand Rugby Union stating that half the net proceeds of the recent tour of the Kiwi Rugby team through New Zealand, would be paid to Heritage iu order to lielp relieve the difficulties of those children who had unfortunately lost their fathers during the war. Today Hon. M"r. Justice Smith, Dominion president of Heritage, expressed sincere appreciation of. the de-
jision of tlie Rugby Union. "The work vvliieh Heritage is doing quietly and unistentatiorsly in the interests of fath^irless children of this war, has been observed by many people," he said. "The dccision of the Rugby Union and Arords in which it has been expressed, will grealiy encourage members of Hori tage in the work they have voluntarily undertaken. The Union may be assured that the money will be faithfully applied in accordance with its desires."
