AUCKLAND, August 22. The removal of New Zealand 'a isolatiou through tlie developinent of long distance air travel, meant that health proldems of all tlie world had becoine a community problem, stated Dr. T. 11. Ritchie, Deputy Director General of Health, on his retum to Auckland from tlie United Nations world health conference iu New York. A realisation of tlie short time factor iuvolved iii world travel must make New Zealandera internationally iniiided in health mattera, said l)r. Ritchie. Tlie conferenee, wliieli was attended by., United Xations delegates and observers from other countries and organisations, conaidered tlie draft eonstitution of tlie iiroposed World Health Assembly. On belialf of New Zealand Dr. Ritchie signed tlie draft which has to be ratilied by the 26 member states of United Nations. its duties will include Ihe preparation of international eonveniions for limiting the spread of disease and tlie standardisatiou of drugs and other products.
