FIRE BRIGADE BILLIARDS
OTAKI DEFEAT SHANNON On Saturday evening Messrs. Gyde, Richards and Coulter, of the Shannon Fire Brigade, journeyed ;o Otaki to play a challenge biliiard match with members of the Otaki Brigade. Although Shannon won two of tb^ three games played, Otaki outpointed the visitors by 598 points to 456. The results of the games were as follows: — F. Edwards 200 defeated C. D. Gyde 56, F. Boggs, 199 lost to D. Richards 200, J. MacLeod 199 lost to B. Coulter 200. Breaks scored throughout the evening were Edwards 51, 17, 16, 19, 10, 11, 12; Gyde 14; Boggs 12, 12, 11, 18. 11; Richards 15, 10, 10. At the completion of the match Mr. Smith, of the Otaki Brigade, thanked the visitors for a most i interesting match and a very pleas- ! ant evening. Mr. C. D. Gyde suit- ' ably replied on belaalf of the Shan1 non visitors.
